ZIMRA Launches E-Tariff Technical Mission to Enhance Trade Facilitation and Customs Efficiency

In a significant step towards digital transformation and ease of doing business, the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) has introduced a new e-Tariff Tool, a digital platform designed to simplify tariff classification and estimate customs duties. This initiative aligns with Zimbabwe’s National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1), focusing on public service digitalization and economic modernization.

The e-tariff tool was officially introduced to ZIMRA staff in a workshop held from June 17–19, 2024, facilitated by Helen Scrimgeour, a consultant from UNCTAD. It enables importers, exporters, and clearing agents to plan shipments with accuracy, predict clearance costs, and reduce uncertainties that often result in delays or unexpected customs charges.
