Taxman partners Corporates- Fundraises towards Charity
By Zimra News Desk

On December 5, 2019, the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) Charity Trust held its annual Charity Ball at Rainbow Towers Hotel, bringing together corporate partners and stakeholders for a cause rooted in compassion and service. Held under the theme:
“ZIMRA: Empowering communities through positive partnerships,”
the event raised funds to support disadvantaged groups across Zimbabwe.
Commissioner General Ms. Faith Mazani, in her remarks, applauded both corporate and individual efforts that continue to strengthen the Authority’s philanthropic arm:
“It is because of you our valued partners that we have managed to support the work and ministry that she and many others do to take care of the less privileged... I am indebted to all of you for lending a hand to the needy.”
Major Christia Nyaruberu, Administrator of Bhumudzo Old People’s Home, delivered the keynote address and highlighted ZIMRA’s unique role in national development:
“Despite sometimes being in an uneasy marriage of convenience with the taxman, the reality is every day we partner ZIMRA... to ensure that ZIMRA provides funding for national and social projects.”
She also emphasized how partnerships are embedded in ZIMRA’s strategic pillars, and thanked donors for their unwavering support—especially those whose core business is profit-driven yet still choose to give back.
Bhumudzo Old People’s Home, one of the direct beneficiaries of the Charity Ball, previously received a greenhouse from ZIMRA, officially handed over by Ms. Mazani and her team in 2018.
