Finance Minister tours proposed Makuti dry port site

On 8 February 2020, Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Hon. Professor Mthuli Ncube, visited Makuti to inspect the proposed site for a 50-hectare dry port—a major development set to enhance inland customs processing and trade facilitation.

During the tour, ZIMRA Region 1 Manager Mrs. Angeline Mashiri and Mr. Henry Nyamuromba presented the dry port plan to the Minister, while ZIMRA Commissioner General Ms. Faith Mazani observed the engagement.

The Makuti Dry Port is expected to reduce congestion at traditional ports of entry and allow for more efficient clearance and revenue collection further inland—especially beneficial for transporters operating through northern trade corridors.

Prior to the tour, Minister Ncube had officiated the commissioning of 20 staff housing units for ZIMRA officers. The housing project, completed at a cost of ZWL 4 million, reflects ongoing efforts to improve conditions for frontline revenue officers across the country.

At OyOsCloud, we commend these infrastructure developments. Modern housing and inland ports enhance efficiency, staff morale, and the capacity to manage growing trade volumes.

As ZIMRA expands its footprint, OyOsCloud continues to support businesses interfacing with customs and tax authorities through:

These developments not only strengthen Zimbabwe’s trade logistics but also point toward a smarter, better-equipped revenue ecosystem—one that OyOsCloud is proud to help digitize and support.
