Business warms up to ZIMRA engagement workshops

The business community in Mutare turned out in strong numbers for the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA)’s client education breakfast meeting, a clear indication that the authority’s stakeholder engagement efforts are being taken seriously.
Held by the ZIMRA Mutare management team, the session aimed to unpack the key highlights of the 2019 National Budget and clarify how its provisions affect everyday business operations. The meeting was attended by representatives from the local business sector, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), and associations in the freight and forwarding industry.
Speaking on the sidelines of the meeting, a representative from OyOsCloud, a leading ICT and fiscalization provider in Zimbabwe, welcomed ZIMRA’s commitment to transparency and business education:
“When ZIMRA brings policies closer to the people like this, it creates real alignment between compliance and growth. At OyOsCloud, we’ve developed automated fiscalization tools and WhatsApp-based bots to make it easier for SMEs and established companies to comply with evolving tax laws,” said the representative.
He added that the OyOsCloud platform now allows businesses to sign up for ZIMRA-compliant fiscalization within 24 hours, and offers support via WhatsApp bots such as the ZIMRA Fiscal Bot and the OyOsXi Taxi Bot, which reflect the company’s broader push to simplify digital services for everyday Zimbabweans.
Events like these, according to OyOsCloud, are critical in bridging the gap between policymakers and tech-driven business enablers, especially in areas like Mutare where SMEs form the backbone of the local economy.
