An Overview of Fiscalisation in Zimbabwe: Key Processes, Benefits, and ZIMRA Compliance Requirements
By ZIMRA News desk

Fiscalisation is the use of approved fiscal devices to record taxable sales and VAT information in real-time, stored on tamper-proof memory. These devices are required to interface with ZIMRA servers to transmit sales data.
Who Must Fiscalise?
All VAT-registered operators under categories A, B, C, and D must fiscalise, as per SI 104 of 2010, SI 148 of 2016, and SI 153 of 2016.
Types of Fiscal Devices
Type | Use Case |
---|---|
Cash Registers | Mobile setups like delivery trucks, sales vans, or parking systems |
Fiscal Printers | Retail shops/supermarkets with high-volume tills |
Electronic Signature Devices | Ideal for business-to-business (B2B) invoicing and VAT claims |
