What Is Fiscalisation? ZIMRA Explains and OyOsCloud Makes It Easier
By Zimra News Desk

Fiscalisation is a government-backed initiative designed to enhance transparency in Value Added Tax (VAT) administration. It involves configuring fiscal devices to record sales and tax data in real time, directly onto a read-only fiscal memory for use by ZIMRA.
There are three key types of prescribed fiscalised devices:
-
Electronic Tax Registers (ETRs)
-
Fiscalised Printers
-
Electronic Signature Devices (ESDs)
Every VAT-registered operator—whether retail or not—is required to use fiscal devices daily and generate Z-reports (daily, monthly, and annual) containing transaction and tax details. Reports must also show all trading currencies, be kept for six years, and be made available to ZIMRA when requested.
To simplify compliance, OyOsCloud offers a complete Fiscalisation Package for just $20/month. Businesses can register on the OyOsCloud portal and be fully fiscalised within 24 hours — no need for paperwork queues or complicated setups.
Operators must ensure:
-
The correct description and tax rate allocation for goods/services
-
The proper use and configuration of their devices
-
Consistent and full daily usage
For non-compliant operators, ZIMRA warns that penalties and prosecution may follow. However, there are incentives for compliant businesses:
-
50% of the device cost is claimable as Input Tax
-
The remaining 50% is deductible over two years through Income Tax
-
Rebates and VAT exemptions on importing fiscal devices (for approved suppliers)
Whether you're in retail or professional services, OyOsCloud provides the tools and support you need to stay compliant — including WhatsApp-based assistance at 0771 111 333 and quick access to setup guides.
