ZIMRA rejuvenates regional CSR – Donates towards Charity
By Zimra News Desk

The Victoria Falls/Kazungula/Hwange Sub-Region of the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) proudly flew the flag of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in Q1, raising over USD 400 to assist Holton Mpala, a Form 4 student at Ndlovu Secondary School, with urgent medical treatment.
Mpala suffered a needle prick injury in his left hand. After three unsuccessful manual surgeries at hospitals in Bulawayo and facing non-functional local equipment, his only hope was a computerised object removal operation in Zambia. His elderly grandparents, both over 60 and unemployed, had exhausted their resources on prior treatments.
Moved by his story, ZIMRA staff in the sub-region pooled personal donations to cover:
X-rays and surgery
Bandages, tablets, and aftercare
Transport and accommodation for Mpala and his grandmother
Their contribution made the cross-border medical procedure possible, reaffirming ZIMRA’s commitment to community well-being beyond revenue collection.
