ATAF courts communications personnel Category: News

On August 30, 2021, the African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF) hosted a key workshop for communications personnel from member states, including Zimbabwe. The event focused on enhancing tax communication strategies to boost voluntary compliance and taxpayer education across Africa.

The workshop underscored the critical role of communication officers in bridging the gap between tax authorities, citizens, and the media.

“Your job as communications persons is to make citizens want to pay taxes and make them understand the need to pay taxes by educating them on how and why they should do so,”
Mr. Logan Wort, ATAF Executive Secretary

Participants exchanged insights and experiences on effective messaging, and how these could be adapted by ATAF and national agencies like ZIMRA to build institutional trust and public cooperation.

A key theme was the shift from traditional platforms such as radio and TV, to more dynamic digital channels, especially social media—a space where real-time, relatable tax education can thrive.

At OyOsCloud, we recognize the importance of clear, accessible tax communication—especially in digital spaces. Our platform provides businesses with:
